We are a product of our environment! Different stress on our body can induce dysfunction and a state of dis-ease. These stressors can be physical - work postures, repetitive strain, previous injuries. Or biochemical - refined carbohydrates, refined sugars, unbalanced diet. Or emotional - low self esteem, previous trauma, work stress, relationships etc.
My role as a Chiropractor is to help you address the different stressors that may be hindering your body and supporting your nervous system with gentle chiropractic adjustments so that you can function optimally as your body was designed to.
Chiropractic adjustments do not cure or treat specific conditions, but instead they help the body function optimally so it can heal innately - from the inside out.
In 2021, I completed a two year post-graduate Diplomate of Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (DACCP). This gave me so much knowledge around the complex development of the paediatric nervous system as well as the most recent evidence on diagnosis and treatment for a range of paediatric conditions from birth through to adolescence.
Applied Kinesiology recognises and focuses on the relationship between structural body mechanics, biochemistry and emotional health and their effect on the nervous system.
Practitioners certified in Applied Kinesiology may use a range of muscle testing to assess your overall nervous system function and application of structural correction, nutrition, cranio-sacral therapy, meridian therapy, visceral (organ) therapy, immune system function, Retained Neonatal Reflexes® and many other health aspects.
NET is used by practitioners to help physical problems that have an associated stress component. Stress can definitely be a factor in acute situations, and it is also often a factor in chronic and hard-to-resolve conditions.
While emotions used to be thought of as only being felt in our brain, there is research now to support that other parts of our body can carry or reflect that stress as well. This is our “physiological” response to stress - for example having a bad dream and waking up with a racing heart rate and sweating profusely, even though we are perfectly safe in our bed, our body was having a physical response to a perceived emotional stress.
